Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons liquid smoke
- ½ (4 to 5 pounds) beef brisket, flat preferred
- 1 (28oz) can Saucy Spoon Spicy Roasted Chipotle Baked Beans
Directions
Preheat oven to 300°F. In a small bowl, combine sugar, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, dry mustard, and black pepper. Stir in liquid smoke to make a paste-like mixture. Spray roasting pan with cooking spray and add brisket. Coat both sides of the brisket with the seasoning mixture. With fatty side facing up, cover pan with lid or foil.
Roast brisket for 4 to 5 hours or until meat is very tender. Let rest 30 minutes. In a saucepan or microwave-safe container, heat beans covered for 2 to 3 minutes or until hot. Slice brisket into thin slices and serve with baked beans.
Smoker Directions: Combine seasonings but eliminate the liquid smoke. Rub brisket with seasonings. Follow directions to smoke brisket for your brand of smoker. If using a charcoal heated smoker with wood chunks, allow 4 to 5 hours to smoke the brisket.
